Snow won’t stop!

I don’t think the snow is ever going to stop this year!  I know it’s February, and that is the month that we get a lot of snow, but this is getting ridiculous!  It snowed again yesterday!  Believe it or not, we can barely see out the front windows!  We can just see the tops of trucks going by, but can’t see any cars!  Incredible!

Snow crash!

Unbelievable!  Here I was, getting ready for a birthday party, it was supposed to be a surprise, and the phone rang!  It was my aunt; she had just flipped her car over!  She hit a bunch of slush in the road.  It snowed 3″ last night, and the temperature had gone up to about 40 degrees, so it was slushy.  She wasn’t going very fast, and thank God she wasn’t hurt, but she had to tell my mother why she was out, which she didn’t want to do!  But, we went and got her and everything worked out all right.

Sunny, sunny, sunny!

It’s a little strange for February, but we’ve had three days of nice sun, the temperature was around 40 degrees!  It looked like the snow banks were starting to melt a little bit, although I wonder; they still are about 5 feet tall!  I can just barely see out the front window!  More snow tomorrow!

Rain

Geez, got home early today, roads were kinda greasy, it’s been raining all day!  And all the icy spots on the road were really slippery.  I’m not sure if the sand truck broke down or not, but my road was terrible, even though it’s 40 degrees out!  Hopefully the rest of the week will be better, it’s supposed to be sunny.

Brrrrrr!

Unbelievable!  Yesterday the temperature was minus 4 degrees when I got up!  I thought we were having a heat wave by noontime, it was ten above!  Stayed that way all day!  Today I got up and it was just zero outside!  Although I had the heat cranked up to about 78 degrees in the house, it felt like 60!  I could just feel that oil running right through the furnace!  Oh well….  a little overtime will pay for it!

I love my generator!

Boy, I love my generator!  Ha Ha!  This is the second time we’ve lost the power this month, but my generator kicks in and all is well.  I’m laughing while I type this because my generator gives me power for the whole house.  I can cook, clean, wash dishes, take a hot shower, get ready for work tomorrow, and I don’t have to worry about a thing as far as power!  Life is great!

Sick of snow!

February 8, 2008 on 10:14 pm | In General living | No Comments

Boy, am I sick of snow!  All it has done for the last four days is snow!  And the weatherman says it is going to snow all weekend too!  My back is sore, my boots sprung a leak, my feet got soaked, and I got stuck with my truck on a snowbank!  That was my fault; I was trying to follow some other guys with jacked up trucks over a snowbank.  I’ve got the power, just not the clearance!  See ya!

Poor fishing, great drinking!

Well, the weekend is over, spent most of it ice fishing with my friends out on Great Pond.  We didn’t catch very many fish, but we drank a lot of beer!  And we grilled some steak from my buddy’s deer that he shot last fall - boy was it good!  I got several flags, but it didn’t seem like the fish was on the end of it when we got there!  Oh well, back to work tomorrow!

Clear weather, but….

February 1, 2008 on 12:07 pm | In General living | No Comments

We finally had some clear weather, moderate temperatures.  It’s nice when you have to work outside once in a while!  Look up and see the sun, people drive by and wave, you know it’s a pretty nice day!  But again, they say it’s going to snow tomorrow!
